I can manage to get to the authentication, but nothing happens after that, only a blank screen (Opera,Firefox).

Having $cfg['QueryFrameJS'] set to TRUE, this leads to a bug in Opera 6, because it is not able to interpret frameset definitions written by JavaScript. Please upgrade your phpMyAdmin installation or to Opera 7 at least.

If you have Adblock installed in Firefox you have to allow popups for that site.
